In-Home Services

In-Home Service Options

Did you know that about 70% of 65-year-olds will need long-term care at some point in their lives? Although Medicare can provide some help for a short-term stay in a skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation at home, most people don’t realize that it won’t be sufficient to cover all the care needed for someone with Alzheimer's disease or someone with a major chronic illness.

Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)

The Coastal Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging gets limited funding through the Older Americans Act to help seniors remain in their communities. These services are not meant to be long-term care, but rather an addition to other informal supports already in place. Homemaker, personal care, respite, adult day care, and meals may be available through this grant-funded program on a limited basis. Individuals must be 60 or older or have dementia to participate. Unfortunately, due to funding, there's a waiting list for most services under this program.

CCSP Medicaid Waiver Program

This program is for individuals who require more comprehensive care due to a physical disability. The financial requirements for CCSP Medicaid are different than regular Medicaid; therefore, individuals may qualify for CCSP even if they have been denied other Medicaid programs. Depending on your income, you may have to pay for a portion of your services.

This program has the following services available: personal support services, meals, adult day care, and emergency response. Some assisted living facilities also accept payment through this program. Everyone’s situation is different, so call our office at 800-580-6860 for a FREE consultation about long-term care.
